Protection on and off the water
Whatever Floats Your Boat
As the old saying goes, "The two happiest days in a man's life are when he buys his boat and when he sells his boat."
While we can't say for sure that this is true, we do know that the happiest boat owner is the one who knows how his (or her) insurance will react and who will be there for him on his worst day.

Coverages
To Consider
Covers the costs associated with injuries and property damage you are responsible for if you cause a boating accident.
The liability limits selected should be high enough to shield your personal assets (property, savings, investments, etc.)
Having inadequate liability limits can lead to financial ruin if you are held liable for an accident. All of your assets and even future wages could be at risk.
Covers the costs associated with injuries and property damage you sustained in a boating accident not caused by you if the person who caused the accident does not have enough insurance or does not have insurance at all.
Covers the costs to repair or replace your damaged or destroyed boat after an accident, minus your deductible.

The collision deductible you choose can have a significant impact on the amount you pay each month vs how much you'll pay in the event of an accident.

A higher deductible will lower your monthly cost, but will leave you with higher out-of-pocket expenses after an accident.
The value of the boat can be based on Actual Cash Value (ACV) or Replacement Cost/Agreed Value.

Also known as "other than collision," this covers damage to your boat from hazards like theft, fires, heavy winds, and other forms of weather related damage.
Like collision coverage, the deductible you choose can have a significant impact on how much you pay each month vs out-of-pocket expenses.
Your comprehensive deductible can often be different than your collision deductible.
The value of the boat can be based on Actual Cash Value (ACV) or Replacement Cost/Agreed Value.

Covers the costs of injuries for you and others in your boat after an accident, regardless of who was at fault.
This coverage is very easy to access and exists to help avoid a larger liability situation (x-rays and ER visits are typically less expensive than a lawsuit).
Towing coverage reimburses you for the cost of having your boat & trailer towed, up to a total specified amount.
On-water towing coverage is available for towing on the water, jump starts, soft un-groundings, and fuel delivery if your boat is disabled or breaks down on the water.
This covers for repair or replacement of the boat's motor due to mechanical breakdown.
This coverage and availability varies greatly from company to company, so check with your insurance provider or call us for specific details.
Covers your belongings on the boat, such as fishing gear or life vests, up to the policy limit.
Pays for containment, clean up, or damage resulting from fuel spills due to a sunken boat, leaking tank, or a mishap at the fueling station, up to the policy limit.
Water Sports coverage pays (up to the policy limit) for injuries you caused from tubing, knee boarding, wake boarding, wake surfing or other similar activities that don't involve pulling someone through the air (like parasailing).
